I was really inspired by the Quarantine Quarantines menu from the Electronic Literature Organization conference this summer. Its a randomly determined food and drink menu set in verse written by Scott Rettberg and Talan Memott. Seeing several people make the meals during the conference was really fun! The drinks, though, often seemed really strange. I wanted to make a site in the spirit of a randomly generated cocktail mixer, but that would also be reasonably palatable. So I made the Combinatory Cocktails site. Just reload the page for new drinks or hit the ‘How about another?’ button. It chooses from ten broad cocktail categories and then uses a context free javascript grammar to generate the ingredients and mixing instructions.
