Their location and theme usually changes every year.)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.siggraph.org\/\">ACM SIGGRAPH <\/a>&#8211; THE digital graphics conference.\u00a0 IT&#8217;s a huge multi-track event.\u00a0 The Studio area has more hands on activities and demonstrations.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sigchi.org\/\">ACM CHI<\/a> &#8211; THE Human-Computer Interaction conference.\u00a0 Also huge and multi-track.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/tei.acm.org\">ACM TEI<\/a> &#8211; Single track conference on Tangible, Embedded, and Embodied Interfaces.\u00a0 Very good if you work with non-GUI.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nime.org\/\">NIME<\/a> &#8211; New Interfaces for Musical Expression, great for new forms in audio.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.isea-web.org\/symposia\/current-isea-symposia\/\">ISEA<\/a> &#8211; International Symposium on Electronic Art.<\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s a slew of other small conferences that may or may not have an arts track depending on the year and organizers but may be compelling to media artists.\u00a0 They include: ACM Multi Media, ACM Creativity and Cognition, ACM Designing Interactive Systems, ACM Audio Mostly, Sound and Music Computing, Electronic Literature Organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>INTERMEDIA ART FESTIVALS\u00a0 (All have international eligibility)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/burningman.org\/culture\/burning-man-arts\/grants\/\">Burning Man<\/a> &#8211; You can apply for funding, but grants typically barely cover material expenses.\u00a0 This is probably the harshest installation environment ever.\u00a0 It&#8217;s great.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/currentsnewmedia.org\/\">Currents New Media<\/a> &#8211; In New Mexico.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/canalconvergence.com\/\">Canal Convergence<\/a> &#8211; In Arizona, looks specifically at water and light.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ars.electronica.art\/prix\/en\/\">Ars Electronica<\/a> &#8211; Prix Ars is the Oscars of intermedia art, held in Linz, Austria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>GRANTS AND FUNDING<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/futuregenerationartprize.org\/en\">http:\/\/futuregenerationartprize.org\/en<\/a>\u00a0 &#8220;The Future Generation Art Prize established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in 2009 is a worldwide contemporary art prize to discover, recognize and give long-term support to a future generation of artists. The Prize is a major contribution to the open participation of younger artists in the dynamic cultural development of societies in global transition.The Prize is an innovative new international award for artists up to 35 years of age, investing in the artistic development and new production of works. Awarded through a competition, judged by a distinguished jury, the Prize is founded on the idea of generosity, a network of outstanding patron artists and institutional partners, and a highly democratic application procedure.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/artadia.org\/\">http:\/\/artadia.org\/<\/a>\u00a0 &#8220;Artadia supports visual artists with unrestricted financial awards and fosters connections to a network of opportunities.&#8221; \u00a0Limited to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, LA and the SF Bay Area.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.creative-capital.org\/\">http:\/\/www.creative-capital.org\/<\/a> &#8220;Creative Capital has awarded $29 million to 530 groundbreaking artists nationwide through funding, counsel and career development services.
