{"id":143,"date":"2014-12-01T23:51:13","date_gmt":"2014-12-02T04:51:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.matthewmosher.org\/studentwork\/?p=143"},"modified":"2017-10-11T14:43:06","modified_gmt":"2017-10-11T18:43:06","slug":"interactive-kinetic-light-and-sound-sculptures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mosher.art\/studentwork\/arizona-state-university\/interactive-kinetic-light-and-sound-sculptures\/","title":{"rendered":"Interactive, Kinetic, Light, and Sound Sculptures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PROJECT 3: Final Project<\/p>\n<p>OBJECTIVE: To use advanced coding techniques to create a portfolio quality dynamic sculpture piece that includes sound and \/ or kinetic elements that respond to viewer interaction.<\/p>\n<p>GOAL: To create a sculpture that responds to viewer presence though dynamic digital sound or digital motion.<\/p>\n<p>PROCESS:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The final project is somewhat open, however it must include these elements:\n<ul>\n<li>Arduino<\/li>\n<li>Motion via a controlled stepper motor OR triggered audio playback<\/li>\n<li>An interactive and\/or responsive element via sensor input.<\/li>\n<li>A \u201cconcept.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Your project can build on concepts considered in your earlier projects but must manifest itself as it\u2019s own distinct project, i.e. it can not simply be an iteration.<\/li>\n<li>Start by sketching!\n<ul>\n<li>Sketch at least ten different ideas.<\/li>\n<li>Choose three that you like the most and develop them further (with models \/ samples).<\/li>\n<li>Choose one to present to the class, but be prepared to speak about the other two if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Make art.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>VOCABULARY: arduino, shield, stepper motor, motor controller, collar, flex coupler<\/p>\n<p>REFERENCES: Daniel Rozen, Sabrina Raff, Janet Cardiff, Theo Kaccoufa, Tim Hawkinson, Hiroshi Ishii, Andrea Polli, Ken Rinaldo, Tine Bech<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"314472613\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TYxyLUBw1v0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
