autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A minimum viable product (MVP) is like a high fidelity prototype that you can show to investors and potential customers\/clients.\u00a0 It has to be functional to the point that it conveys your ideas and proves that you are capable of doing what you say will do.\u00a0 Depending on what direction and media types your team has chosen, these MVPS will vary widely from group to group.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expression: Make it.<\/li>\n<li>Literature: Write it.<\/li>\n<li>2D Image: Make it.<\/li>\n<li>Audio: Make it \/ find it.<\/li>\n<li>Moving image: Make it \/ find it.<\/li>\n<li>Social: Create necessary accounts, event schedules, invitations, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Broadcast: Make the content, prototype the distribution.<\/li>\n<li>Interactive: Prototype with\u00a0Axure \/ Adobe XD &amp; Photoshop.<\/li>\n<li>Performance:\u00a0Script\/choreograph\/storyboard it (in detail).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So if a zine is part of your solution, make issue 1 of the zine.\u00a0 If a website is part of your solution (and you have a web designer on your team) make the site, if not use Axure \/ Adobe XD to prototype it.\u00a0 If part of your solution is an app, prototype it with a combination of Photoshop, Adobe XD, PowerPoint, and\/or Axure.<\/p>\n<p>There should be no placeholder content (images, videos, or text) at this stage.\u00a0 The primary goal of the MVP is to demonstrate the look and feel of your solution, so visuals and aesthetics count.\u00a0 The secondary goal is to demonstrate functionality.\u00a0 If you get to a point where you don&#8217;t know how to do something (php scripting, app deployment, videography, etc) do two things.\u00a0 First, make a note that you will need to add a line to your budget (future assignment) for hiring a person who can do that task.\u00a0 Second, make an image to show in as much detail as possible what that area of content would look like if it were functioning the way you want it to, and include the image in the MVP.<\/p>\n<p>You\u00a0should bring your MVP to UCF Celebrates the Arts to compliment your poster.\u00a0 But note that space is limited, so MVPs should not take up more space than an average lap top computer.\u00a0 If your MVP is digital, you&#8217;ll need to provide your own computer and display.<\/p>\n<p>For this assignment,\u00a0make a 2-5 minute video demonstrating your MVP.\u00a0 Use audio narrations.\u00a0 Your video should also explain your research question and target audience.\u00a0 You may screen capture or a video camera for this.\u00a0 If you use a camera also use a tripod and good lighting.\u00a0 Only use vertical orientation if your MVP is a vertical mobile app.\u00a0 Do not include your names in the video, do include your team number.\u00a0 Post the video to your site and submit the link here.<\/p>\n<p>Up to speed training:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The skills you&#8217;ll need as a team to create this prototypes will vary widely from project to project. \u00a0But here are some resources to bolster your weak spots.<\/li>\n<li>Web design: \u00a0You may have some experience in Web Design already from making your team sites. \u00a0If you are using web as part of your MVP you&#8217;ll likely want to create a separate site for it. \u00a0Wix is a crowd favorite for ease of use, but does not allow for much interactivity &#8211; you&#8217;ll need to proxy those aspects with images\/videos. \u00a0<a class=\"inline_disabled external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6Q4737kSSzA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Here&#8217;s a quick tutorial on Wix. <\/a><\/li>\n<li>Web\/App design: \u00a0You might loose too many features in Wix for your site or app for the prototype to be useful. \u00a0Enter Adobe XD or Axure, though you&#8217;ll need some <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lynda.com\/Photoshop-tutorials\/Photoshop-CC-2018-Essential-Training-Basics\/625922-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">photoshop <\/a>\/ illustrator proficiency either way.\n<ul>\n<li>Adobe XD is fast becoming a go to application for UI design because of its integration with the rest of Adobe CC.\u00a0 It is available in the Tech Commons 2 lab.\u00a0Here&#8217;s a tutorial for making a <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lynda.com\/Experience-Design-tutorials\/Designing-Prototyping-Website-Adobe-XD\/586674-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<span class=\"screenreader-only\">\u00a0<\/span><\/a> or <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lynda.com\/Experience-Design-tutorials\/Designing-Prototyping-Mobile-App-Adobe-XD\/586673-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">app<span class=\"screenreader-only\"> .<\/span><\/a> And, just over spring break they released their essential training for <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lynda.com\/XD-tutorials\/Adobe-XD-Essential-Training-Design\/674604-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">design <\/a>and <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lynda.com\/XD-tutorials\/Adobe-XD-Essential-Training-Prototype-Share\/674605-2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prototyping<span class=\"screenreader-only\">.<\/span><\/a> And the best part is it&#8217;s only 2.5 hours total for both courses.<\/li>\n<li><a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.axure.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Axure <\/a>is professional strength industry software. \u00a0There&#8217;s a learning curve that is probably only worth while if you have a strong interest in User Interface Design. \u00a0Good news is that it is free for students.<\/li>\n<li>And yes, it&#8217;s true, you can even do similar things with PowerPoint. \u00a0<a class=\"inline_disabled external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Hoj7v0j8w6o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Here&#8217;s a video tutorial <span class=\"ui-icon ui-icon-extlink ui-icon-inline\" title=\"Links to an external site.\"><span class=\"screenreader-only\">site.<\/span><\/span><\/a> &#8211;
