The antidote to protest is propaganda.

How do you prevent a protest from ever happening?  How do you manipulate others to match your beliefs?  Through propaganda of course!  We often think of propaganda as a tool used exclusively by the fascists and communist, but there’s plenty of propaganda to be found here in the states.  Have you seen a Abercrombie & Fitch or Coke add?  While a protest may be in your face, propaganda is much more subtle.  What will you try to persuade us of?

Assignment

Design a propaganda poster that will convince others of your view point, not enrage them.  You may use photoshop to design the image components of this poster, but you must use Illustrator to layout the text.

  • Keep in mind the course Professionalism Policy from the syllabus.
  • Must include text of your own design (at least 5 words).
  • Must also contain images / graphics / line / shape art.
  • No election posters!
  • Size should be 18″ x 24″ at 300ppi.
